ATLAS: the new step-feeder for automatic feeding of cosmetic bottles and tubes

Cosmetic companies require high-performance automation systems and feeders designed to adapt to different shapes, sizes, materials and ensuring integrity, speed and flexibility.

Depending on the type of product to be fed, different types of feeders are used: vibratory, mechanical or robotic. Among the more compact mechanical feeders are step-feeders, also known as plate or step elevators.

Step-feeders improve the automation and operational efficiency of the entire line by exploiting a simple, precise and silent mechanism in very small footprint.

Step feeder: how does it work?

Inside the step feeder, products are loaded in bulk into a hopper. The bulk products are automatically positioned above the steps, which, moving in sequence, advance the products towards the outfeed belt. Each step captures and lifts a limited number of products at a time, preventing accumulation or jamming. The horizontal parts on the conveyor belt can then be:

  • slide inside a godet system for correct vertical positioning;
  • be placed directly inside the next machine;
  • slide inside a wheel to change the output axis according to the customer's request.

Why choose the ATLAS step feeder: all the advantages of our step feeder

Investing in our ATLAS step feeder means numerous advantages in terms of efficiency, quality and cost reduction. The main benefits:

  • Reduced operating costs: by automating the feeding, costs associated with manual operations are reduced. Furthermore, the use of advanced materials and optimised mechanisms reduce wear and tear and long-term maintenance costs.
  • Lower noise impact: Unlike vibratory feeders, the ATLAS step feeder generates less noise and improves the working environment.
  • Greater flexibility and scalability: ATLAS can be easily integrated with existing machines and is compatible with different formats of the same product
  • Improved quality and precision: the perfect orientation of the parts prevents errors in the assembly of the bottles, improving the quality of the final product. Furthermore, due to the gentle bottom-up handling of the products, the risk of damage to fragile or delicate components is reduced.

Technical details:

  • Production: from 50 to 70 ppm
  • Output tracks: 1 or multiple
  • Product max. dimensions: 2,5 - 25 mm
  • Output posizione: Vertical or horizontal axis

An advanced step-feeder such as ATLAS is not only an investment to improve productivity but also a strategic choice to ensure quality, efficiency and sustainability within the cosmetic line in which it is installed.
