Step feeder: how does it work?
Inside the step feeder, products are loaded in bulk into a hopper. The bulk products are automatically positioned above the steps, which, moving in sequence, advance the products towards the outfeed belt. Each step captures and lifts a limited number of products at a time, preventing accumulation or jamming. The horizontal parts on the conveyor belt can then be:
- slide inside a godet system for correct vertical positioning;
- be placed directly inside the next machine;
- slide inside a wheel to change the output axis according to the customer's request.
